When I was five my father took me out archery hunting for the first time. I don’t remember it, but I do remember growing older and without fail through thick and thin he’d take me out every year to hunt. When I shot my first deer the picture was of me proudly holding it after running up and down the valley trying to find it, but I wish I’d had one of him so I could see that look he had whenever I start to miss him. He was always supportive of me, and always proud to have me as his son. The lessons he taught me will stay with me for the rest of my life, and I hope to some day raise a kid even half as well as he did.
